Delicious Cranberry Scones

Scones, yum! Cranberry scones? Double yum!

This is one of those dishes that I’ll suffer through. I’ll spare those pictures, but it hasn’t been pretty. Not being able to afford GF baking mixes has left me rather…speckled. Is it worth it? Oh yes, I’ll survive.

I can’t take credit for these yummy delicious treats. Heck, i didn’t even bake them, but Zack did. We had some cranberries sitting in the fridge that needed to be used, so we decided upon scones.

This recipe can be found at allrecipes and is called Grandma Johnson’s Scones. They turned out perfect, except for the fact that Zack couldn’t get them cut into 12 pieces. Not the recipes fault though, he had already started cutting them when he realized it was for 12, and not six. We just ended up with extra large scones and had to bake them for longer, not a big deal.

The kids were not crazy about the addition of the cranberries, but you could use raisins or another fresh or dried fruit to meet your tastes. We’ll look forward to using this recipe again, it really is a good base. Serve warm or cooled with fresh butter, and a nice cup of tea or coffee.

My next project won’t be till after the holidays, Biscotti is one the menu. If there are any treats you’d like me to try to make, just shoot us an e-mail.

Sometime after the first of the year, or possibly sooner, I’ll be purchasing our domain. Some minor changes have already been made, and as you can see I finally decided on Literary Sweets, which I feel really hits the nail on the head. Eventually we’ll be getting a make-over too. I’m having difficulty finding a theme I like, so If any of my readers have a knack for blog designs please use the contact form.

Have a wonderful holiday and a happy new year!
