Out of Town

I apologize for leaving everyone hanging, but here is the scoop!

I took a vacation…technically I’m still on it ;)

Yes it really is that simple. I packed up the car, tossed in the kids, and drove north to New Jersey.

It’s good to be “home.” This is where both my husband and myself grew up, where we met and married, and where our two oldest were born. It is also where the bulk of our family is, and it’s been five years since we left for the “country life.”

I had everything planned, or so I thought…I upgraded to a smart phone with the fancy mobile hotspot. Little did I know that when we arrived to the place we would be staying that it is smack, dab in the middle of a cell phone DEAD ZONE. Go figure. I can barely make a phone call without it dropping the signal…so that is why I have been terribly silent on the blog, Facebook, and twitter. I apparently have limited access to my e-mail still, and if I send out a text, you may get it in a few days.

To get a solid 3G and sometimes 4G signal, I have to drive 20 minutes into “town.” So while I have disconnected from a lot of technology, I wasn’t at all prepared for it. The kids have only had two videos to watch over and over again, but I am thankful that my husband brought enough entertainment for us.

Oh did I forget to mention that where we are staying doesn’t have cable either? No satellite…and we are staying in a camping trailer (a lifesaver) that has no hot water (husbands fault).

I promise pictures soon, but not until we are home as I don’t want to eat up my data plan on photos :) In the meantime I’ll keep reading, and I’m starting to test a new program for kids that covers multiple grades and subjects.
